Award-winning! Digital Voice at the Prolific North Tech Awards

We were delighted to attend the Prolific North Awards in Manchester last week. The whole evening was a celebration of the organisations driving the North’s tech industry forward.

Digital Voice were shortlisted in two categories and …

We won for Best Use of AI

At the beginning of the year we started to add AI to our existing programmes like DigitalMe and PhotoClub, as well as creating brand new programmes like DreamIt that really embraced the creative potential of the technology, so as you can imagine, it’s exciting to have it publicly recognised like this.

The judges had this to say:

“Digital Voice’s work in leveraging AI to empower young people, and promote digital inclusion, is vital. They loved how inspirational this initiative is and how technology is being creatively used to make a positive, lasting impact on communities - keep up the great work.”

Managing Director, Julie Nicholson is very happy that our work is being recognised by our industry peers and hopes it leads to further opportunities:

“For the young people in the North East, where digital exclusion is higher than anywhere else in the country, as well as child poverty and an ever widening attainment gap, the creative AI skills we can teach them, presents a real opportunity. It’s a chance to nurture ambition, raise aspirations, teach real-world skills that will lead to future employment, create high quality work that is genuinely young person led; it’s the very definition of how you can use tech for good.”

Huge thanks to Cumberland Council, The Postcode Lottery, Newcastle Council’s Arts Connect Team and The National Lottery for funding the programmes and to our Digital Voice artists and team members for making this award-winning work.

We’d love to hear from you
